For the Ones Who Feel Everything (Part Two)

In working with people who communicate differently, including those that are nonverbal, I've learned that what seems like silence or repetition can often hold deeper meanings. Sometimes communication does not come through typical words or sentences but through patterns, echoes that carry emotion and intent.
When we slow down and listen with curiosity, those patterns can reveal stories, needs, and truths that might otherwise be missed. What at first seems like “just repetition”, can actually be someone’s way of reaching out, desperately trying to be understood.
With patience and a listening ear, those moments of connection can grow. And when a person feels truly heard and seen, something in them shifts. They begin to find their voice, in whatever form it takes. This reminds me that communication is not a one size fits all. When we meet people where they are, and trust that even in the smallest of expressions, meaning can be found.
For parents: You can help children learn grounding practices early on. Breathing together, taking mindful pauses, or even reminding them that their emotions are not “too much” can make a difference. Help them see their sensitivity as a strength, something that allows them to create, empathize, and find joy in their uniqueness.
For therapists: Our work with HSP clients asks us to slow down and listen beyond the words. Silence, body language, and subtle shifts often communicate more than a sentence ever could. Tuning in means noticing what isn’t said, and creating safe space for voices that might not feel ready yet.
For clients: Be gentle with yourself. You’re not broken. Your sensitivity allows you to connect with the world in deep and meaningful ways. Sometimes that looks like music, poetry, or art. Sometimes it’s as simple as stepping outside, taking a deep breath, and grounding yourself in the moment.
Feeling everything doesn’t have to mean being overwhelmed. It can mean being deeply alive. With the right tools, sensitivity can become the very thing that grounds you, connects you, and helps you thrive.

I suspected something was off in my relationship, but my partner’s phone was locked down with countless passwords, making it impossible to access anything. Thankfully, I found support from someone who guided me through a simple monitoring setup that helped clarify the situation. The process was surprisingly easy, even for someone like me with minimal tech skills. With the evidence I gathered, I was able to take the next steps toward resolving things legally.
