we believe in the power of community

Meeting with your providers, whether for therapy or other wellness services, is great, but your community can make a massive impact on your overall well being. We believe that a positive, safe, supportive and celebratory community is key to living our best lives. We offer events for our community to join, and encourage you to find us or join us at some of the events below.

Small group yoga classes @ HMMHW

Ever felt intimidated going into a massive yoga studio for the first time? Felt claustrophobic? Felt shamed because you couldn't do a pose and felt like everyone was watching? Been disappointed by gender exclusive language?

Same.

Join us for inclusive, affirming, and small group classes designed to rest, recharge, and ground -- not work out, burn, or change. We believe that yoga can be a restorative practice and an amazing complement to other wellness services you may be engaging in.

Classes will be held for 90 minutes, limited to only 6 people, and will include a relaxing, omg-you'll-never-believe-it meditative sound bath. You'll love it, trust us.

All bodies are welcome.

Matt Atkins Yoga Headshot_1.jpg

Class will be taught by Matt Atkins (he/him) RYT 200. Matt's teaching philosophy centers around the idea that yoga is a personal journey, and everyone's path is unique. He believes that the practice should be inclusive and accessible to all, regardless of age, experience, or physical condition. Matt's classes are a safe space where students are encouraged to explore their own potential, both on and off the mat. Beyond the physical postures, Matt emphasizes the importance of mindfulness and self-compassion. He encourages his students to take what they learn on the mat and apply it to their daily lives, fostering a sense of balance and harmony in every aspect.

A queer book club like no other!

Inspired by the types of books that Marley and Brianna enjoy, Light and Dark book club will alternate between sinister and twisty one month and sweet and romantic the next.

Join us on the third Thursday of every month at 5:30pm at Blackbird Books and Coffee in Downtown Raleigh for a free book club focused on queer horror and romance.

May's Dark Book:

Yours for the Taking by Gabrielle Korn

The year is 2050. Ava and her girlfriend live in what's left of Brooklyn, and though they love each other, it's hard to find happiness while the effects of climate change rapidly eclipse their world. Soon, it won't be safe outside at all. The only people guaranteed survival are the ones whose applications are accepted to The Inside Project, a series of weather-safe, city-sized structures around the world.

Stitch and Bitch @HMMHW

Looking to get into knitting or crocheting but need some guidance? Or do you need a place to decompress surrounded by fellow crafters?

Come to our Stitch and Bitch! Crafters of any level are welcome. Just bring your current craft project of any kind—knit, crochet, sew, coloring, etc.—and join us for an evening of stitching (+ bitching).

Also: If you are looking to get rid of yarn or scraps, we will be making a communal fiber pile for those without yarn. (Just bring your own hooks and needles!)
