A.R. Ditesheim, LCSWA

Whether this is your first time in therapy or a continuation of your journey, I believe that we all have something to gain when engaging in the therapy space. As someone who has sat in both seats of the therapy room, I know that there is nothing worse than feeling like you are talking to a wall or being given generic therapy responses. With this experience, I am committed to bringing my humanity into the room through compassion, wit, and authenticity. So, whatever it is that has brought you here, I know that the collaborative nature of therapy can be a powerful tool in order to gain insight, support, and confidence in meeting your goals.

I have experience working with an array of clients, each bringing their own perspectives and mental health concerns into our sessions. Having worked with individuals with various backgrounds and identities, my passion lies in working with those exploring the intricacies of gender and sexuality. In addition to identity exploration, I enjoy supporting clients with navigating concerns around anxiety, ADHD, relationships, depression, autism, family dynamics, and trauma. With each person bringing their own unique story, I feel it is crucial to integrate various therapeutic modalities (including DBT, Narrative Therapy, ACT, and Somatic Therapy) so that our work together feels tailored to your distinct experience.

As a Queer person who has navigated the non-linear path of identity exploration, I understand the profound influence that people, places, cultures, and systems have on our lives. I strive to integrate this understanding and lived experience into my therapeutic approach by acknowledging and examining the unique systems and circumstances that impact you. By viewing your story through this holistic lens, we can better understand the challenges you face, the resiliency you possess, and work towards meaningful change.

In our sessions, you can expect a safe space in which you may heal, explore, and thrive. I want you to feel that we are engaging in genuine conversation, ensuring that I am able to meet you exactly where you are. With authenticity at the cornerstone of my practice, the therapeutic space will be one in which you feel seen, understood, and empowered to show up as your true self as we embark on your journey. Your story is important, and I’m honored to be a part of this chapter towards healing, growth, and self-discovery.
